In the heart of Las Terrenas, Pueblo de Los Pescadores, the symbol of this fisherman’s village was completely swept away for the second time almost three years ago. It had risen once from the ashes in 2010, but another fire swept through, leaving an indelible mark on this coastal gem. However, the community’s determination and collective effort to rebuild promise a new chapter in the village’s storied history.
Today, almost three years later, we are still waiting for constructions to be completed. Will we be able to have our picturesque Pueblo de Los Pescadores back? And what has been done to avoid another fire?
